Hello, I’m Purvi, a clinical psychologist licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India. Based in Hyderabad, Telangana, I have been in the field for a decade, working in various urban and rural settings across South India. I am an alumna of the University of Hyderabad and OU-affiliated private colleges. I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman’s Method of Couples Therapy and am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology.
Backed by scientific evidences, I provide psychological treatment for clinical depression, anxiety, emotionally unstable personality, addictions, trauma, and relationships. My approach in therapy focuses on building resilience and helping you find an anchoring point in your life to navigate through adversities. I believe in the use of an integrative approach in therapy that is tailored to suit your needs. Additionally, I follow the principles of trauma-informed care in my practice. I find profound interest in Freud's psychoanalytical approach in understanding human psyche.
On a personal note, I am a woman in my early 30s, who enjoys cooking, cleaning, dressing up, organizing, dancing, reading, and yoga. While I love lifting weights at the gym, I often make up for my inconsistency by playing badminton over the weekends, where I give a stiff competition to my husband, a corporate professional and sport enthusiast. I hate doing laundry and putting away washed dishes. I am a night owl by choice, as my social life thrives on video calls with my best friends scattered around the globe, and it’s the best time to enjoy some coffee. I love lazy days and enjoy the company of furry pets, although I cannot afford one right now. I am blessed with a baby girl, who loves making faces and resisting sleep. I feel blessed to be born in and married into a huge, supportive family where I am the youngest on both sides and get a lot of pampering, though it comes with its fare share of responsibilities. I take pride in being the favorite aunt to my nephews and nieces, which is extremely validating. While I am not a plant mom, I do have a superb green thumb. I am fascinated by finger rings, footwear, and stationery. I also find myself having witty moments and this part of my personality reflects strongly in my sessions.
